Floorball Australia Limited are calling for Expressions of Interest for the Australian National Women’s Team Head Coach and Australian National Women’s Team Assistant Coach positions.
DESCRIPTION: HEAD COACH
The role of the Australian Women’s Head Coach is to select, lead, develop and coach the Australian Women’s Floorball Team. This role will include the following:
TERM
This position shall be effective from the acceptance and signing of the coaching contact and shall continue until the end of the 2027 Women’s World Championships Cycle, inclusive of the Qualifications Round and, upon qualification, the Finals Round. The Contract may be extended based on a performance review by the National Team Management Committee (NTMC) and approval by the Board of FAL.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The Coach shall be responsible for the training, development, and performance of the Team.
2. The Coach shall develop and implement training programs, strategies, and game plans.
3. The Coach shall conduct regular training sessions and attend all team-related activities, including but not limited to practices, meetings, and competitions.
4. The Coach shall promote a positive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
5. The Coach shall comply with all policies, rules, and regulations set by FAL and relevant sporting bodies.
6. The Coach agrees to abide by and uphold the values, policies, and procedures of FAL.
7. The Coach shall provide evidence of having undertaken Working With Children Screening prior to the commencement of this Contract.
8. The Coach shall lead collaboration with the Under 19’s Women’s Head Coach (U19WHC) to promote development pathways that are consistent with and lead to opportunities with the National Women’s Team by:
a. Making the Women’s Team training and tournament preparation program available to the U19WHC and working with the U19WHC to make appropriate adjustments for the U19 Women’s Team.
b. Supporting the U19WHC in the installation of the National Women’s Team’s playing system.
c. Supporting other coaches to develop and facilitate training and coaching programs for Women’s players across the country.
d. Selection of a team in accordance with the Floorball Australia National Selection Policy.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Experience and Qualifications relevant to the role.
- Leadership and Management Skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of techniques and methods used for identifying and developing floorball players to the level required for National Team events.
- Demonstrated ability implementing contemporary coaching knowledge in a floorball environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate, engage, consult, influence and liaise with colleagues, stakeholders, athletes, and parents.
- Demonstrated ability coaching, developing, motivating, and empowering athletes.
- Strong capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team creating and delivering interdisciplinary solutions.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and drive the implementation of athlete performance plans.
- Ability to identify, attract, recruit, and retain talented athletes.
- Demonstrated ability in devising and executing long-term training and competition plans that develop high performance floorball players.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining relationships with athletes and stakeholders.
DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT COACH
The role of the Australian Women’s Head Coach is to select, lead, develop and coach the Australian Women’s Floorball Team. This role will include the following:
